Rediscovering that old ground
along the way lost, again found
my mind corrupted, my heart unbeknownst
I was numbed, existence as a ghost
a different level of consciousness
never realised the emptiness
until I did
and to that emptiness, farewell I bid
obsessions destroy us, leave us in the dark
unable to see the light of the heart
all the profane pleasures of the world
can never make you happy, only curl, curl
curl up into a wretched ball
unable to think or stand tall
and slowly decay
a life full of misery and dismay
rise, and see the dawn
a new hope like a sword has been drawn
the sun peeks over the hill once dark
toward the light, hasten and hark
Our love will mend us, bring us to the light
we can choose to be better, choose to fight
all the profane pleasures of the earth
seem insignificant and of little worth

Excellent medieval folk, IGR, & those with ears to hear. I love the sense of mysticism and deep, introspective ponder this album conveys, & the honest down-to-earth folky lyrics. Simply wonderful yet soulfully rich. Highlights for me are tracks 2, 5, 6, & 12. IGR truly capture what I feel is an authentic sense of a medieval bard at a woodland rill pondering the mysteries of life. Highly recommended. 8.5+/10. Alrihkh

L'envoûtement est bien au rendez-vous. Écouter cet album, c'est se plonger dans un état méditatif, empreint de profondeur, de gravité et, peut-être, d' un peu de mélancolie. 5/5 baudelagon
